Folksy Friday :: Washing On The Line

The best thing for me about the fantastic weather we have been having this week is that I got to dry all my laundry on the line!  Don't you agree? So with this in mind here are some lovely "washing on the line" themed items found on Folksy this week:

Great aren't they? Which is your favourite?

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday :: Pink Flowers

Well I hope the weather is as beautiful where you are as it is here - it's just lovely. So lovely infact that I'm actually working at the garden table today, as I'm sewing by hand for a change. I'm making some more felt flower corsages, this time in pale pinks, snow whites & soft greys, as I thought they would work well as bridal party accessories, perhaps as alternatives to button-holes, or fascinators for flower-girls. What do you think?

I have already made these two in more vibrant colours:

The red flower is going to become a wrist corsage and the green, a hair-slide  - and this time I'm going to keep them for myself....

Right, time for a cuppa and a peek at all the other uber-creative workdesks around the world as hosted by the lovely Julia.

What's on your workdesk this sunny Wednesday afternoon?

Tuesday Crafternoon :: Jubilee Buttons

Yesterday afternoon I finished one more make as part of Hookin' With LaaLaa's God Save the Queen Swap. Can't show you the finished item yet as I don't want to spoil the surprise for my swap partner Marina, but let's just say it involved buttons of the red, white and blue variety....

Have you got any Jubilee themed projects on the go at the moment?

Show & Tell :: Warkton Craft Market

First of all apologies for having been AWOL this week but I spent most of my time over the last 4 or 5 days preparing for my stall at Warkton Craft Market, which I attended yesterday:
Warkton Craft Market, which runs every month, is organised by the lovely Deanne & Michelle who work really hard to make it a lovely day out. There is always such a great mix of talented sellers, plenty of tea & coffee, plus uber scrummy cakes, making it a really nice event to attend either as a seller or a customer.

Yesterday I loaded my stall with my felt goodies, including my new felt cameo brooches:
and my cute little toadstool pin cushion:
My lovely mum (aka my partner-in-craft) came along to help and keep me company which gave her the opportunity to sell some of her crocheted creations, such as these cute little baby slippers:
and these sweet hair bands:
Did you attend any craft events yesterday?

Learning Something New :: Granny Squares

Crochet has been on my to do list for ages and although I've tried to teach myself a couple of times, I just couldn't get to grips with it. So after a bit of research I managed to find a local course and this afternoon I went along for my first lesson. I have to admit that I was all fingers and thumbs to start with but by the end of the session I had made my first granny square. I then immediately came home and made a second! They are not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but I am very happy with my first attempts and suspect I'll be making a few more over the course of the weekend - it's a bit addictive!

Did you learn anything new today?

WOYWW :: Labels & Stamps

Not much crafting going on on my work-desk today I'm afraid, just some prep for a forthcoming craft event I am attending:
I bought these cute little stamps from my mate Deanne a couple of weeks ago when she was having a bit of a de-stash and I thought they would be just the thing for my little product labels.
I can only do the stamping after the kids have gone to bed though as they both have taken an interest in the set and it'll end in their craft box if I'm not careful!

What's on your workdesk today?

Tuesday Crafternoon :: Daffodils & Roses

Yesterday afternoon I spent a bit of time designing and making some different felt flower corsages. I went with a daffodil and rose. I think they need some tweaking as I am not 100% happy with them yet - but I think the colours I've used look really good together.

Did you make anything new yesterday?

May The Fourth Be With You!

Well, truth be told, when it comes down to it, I am actually quite pretty-traditional-girly. By this I mean, I like owl prints, Art Deco glass, cake, bunting, beach-huts & anything by Cath Kidston. I like toadstools, buttons, cherry blossom, retro pirex, swing dresses, coloured nail varnish and afternoon tea. I like chic-lit, music from and inspired by the 30s & 40s, the seaside, cats, watching Poirot on a cold afternoon, vintage caravans, and picnics in the summer. But when it comes to watching films, well that is another kettle of fish altogether. It's life Jim, but not as we know it .... You see it is true to say that I am a BIG Sci-fi fan. Star Wars, Star Trek, Stargate - I love them all.
So in celebration of Star Wars Day and my love of all things sci-fi, here is a list of my favourite sci-fi inspired items found on Folksy this week:
 Star Trek Felt Badge - Pictureofgrace
  Star Wars Paper-cut - Gingerhearts

 Stormtrooper Lego Cufflinks - Bits and Badges
Star Wars Finger Puppets - MuNGBEANS

Aren't they awesome? Which is your favourite?

Are you a sci-fi fan too?

What's your favourite thing on a Friday?

Live long and prosper. xx

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday :: May Day Cake Bunting

I've decided that it's far too wet and cold outside to be venturing anywhere far, so really the only option is to just stay at home crafting for the day ...

I picked up lots of really bright coloured felt yesterday and have been making some pretty flower corsages in various designs. This morning however I had the bright idea that the rainbow of colours would work really well as May Day Cake Bunting, so that's what I've got on the sewing machine at the moment:
Of course, I'll have to spend the afternoon making myself a Victoria Sponge just so I can show it off!

What have you got on your workdesk this Wednesday morning (WOYWW)?

Tuesday Crafternoon :: May Flowers

Well, it's been very grey and miserable outside again today, so I've spent the afternoon making these colourful May Flower corsages:
They'll be available in my shop tomorrow. Bloomin' marvelous!
